The Golden Age of Hollywood: 1915 - 1963

The Golden Age of Hollywood, sometimes referred to as the period of classical Hollywood cinema, started with the silent movie era and the first major feature-length silent movie called the 'Birth of a Nation' (1915). The Golden Age of Hollywood ended with the demise of the studio system, the emergence of television, the rising costs and subsequent losses notably 'Cleopatra' (1963).  The Golden Age of Hollywood is so called because of the enormous amount of money the movies produced and the images of the glittering and glamorous movie stars that filled the movie screens.

We are excited to invite you to Casa De Fruta in Hollister, CA! Home of the VCT Boot Camp! We have reserved over 250 sites at the park for this years event. Casa De Fruta offers several types of camping options based on your needs and desires. Itinerary

• Thursday: Pot-Luck dinner round up. Bring a cowboy inspired main, side dish or salad. 6:30 pm

• Friday: Pancake-n-Sausage Breakfast 7:30 am to 9 am. Get your grub on!

• Friday Night: Cowboy Cocktails and Cobbler Mixer. Fire up your black kettle or canteen, bring some to share, and we'll supply the ice cream. 7:00 pm.

• Saturday:  Open House. Open to the public 10 am to 2 pm. Classic cars invited to attend. Arrive between 9:00 am and 9:45 am and stay until 2:00 pm. (Food Truck and/or restaurants on -site.)

• Saturday Night: Live Music and dancing to The Only Cash Tribute Band! 7 pm to 9 pm. Come as you are or all dolled up in your favorite western attire! This is sure to be the shindig of the summer!

• Friday: Grits-n-Sausage and donuts for breakfast 7:30 am to 9 am.  Ukulele lessons 1:00 pm.

• Friday Night:  Music Jam. Bring your instrument (and a chair) and play/sing along around the campfire. S'mores and Root Beer Floats. 7:00 pm.

• Saturday:  Open House. Open to the public 10 am to 2 pm. Classic cars invited to attend. Arrive between 9:00 am and 9:45 am and stay until 2:00 pm. 

• Saturday Night: Live Music by The Doug Kershaw Band! 7 pm to 9 pm. Come as you are or all dolled up in your favorite Cajun attire!
